My Goals
There are many learning opportunities at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). I’m excited to learn my strengths and weaknesses in all aspects of my life. Whether I need to work on my art, genealogy, confidence, independence and/or social skills I look forwards to the challenge. Each semester I see vast improvements. I’ve learned (and continue to learn) basic life skills. Abilities that help me “jump through the hoops” to obtain my objectives. I’m learning how to organize, prioritize and how to be efficient. I’m learning how to “roll-with the punches”and what “makes or breaks” a genealogist.
As for my short term goals… they aren’t as easy to pinpoint as I thought they would be. After writing down a list I realized they weren’t just short term goals or long term goals. They’re lifelong goals. I want to sharpen my skills and creativity. I strive to become a well-rounded person with confidence and maturity through experience. There are no limits. I will be chasing this objective to the end of my days.
My goal at SLCC is to get my certificate in Genealogy. I want to feel confident to become an Accredited Genealogist from the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (a.k.a. ICAPGen).
My passion for genealogy was cultivated at a young age. I enjoy all of its aspects from the hunt to find evidence to the art of restoring old photographs.
What would I do with my certificate and/or accreditation? I would enjoy helping clients discover their heritage or I might work for a company that deals in genealogical research. I could tutor those who desire to learn more about family history and maybe volunteer at Family History Centers too.
